Creative Climate Action Toolkit

Jon brought my ideas to life and had such a calming, optimistic attitude. I was so grateful for his eyes in every stage of developing the product: from scripting, to using graphics, to making the kit as accessible as it could be. Truly a delight to collaborate with.
— Zoe Rasbash, Watershed

In her role as Environmental Emergencies Action Researcher at Pervasive Media Studio, Zoe Rasbash designed a toolkit to support smaller businesses, organisations, collectives and freelancers to act on climate. Find out more about her process and access the full toolkit.

Making the toolkit accessible, and not just a series of documents, was crucial. Zoe approached me to create a short film that encapsulated the activity she was inviting organisations to undertake, and explained how to use the free resources she had made.

We decided a scripted approach would be appropriate and used a simple backdrop that drew the viewer’s attention to Zoe and what she was communicating. On the shoot, we used a teleprompter to ensure her delivery to camera was a comfortable, easy process. I then adapted existing assets from a graphic designer into motion graphics, with emphasis on clarity and simplicity. Finally, the budget allowed British Sign Language interpretation, which was managed through SigningWorks, another long-term collaborator.
